In 2018, Firethorn was established with a mission to be bold and do things differently. While the business has since grown and evolved, this founding ethos has remained.
Today, we continue to be progressive, decisive and innovative in our work – values which are all reflected in Firethorn’s new brand and website.
Our new identity marks an important milestone in Firethorn’s continued evolution, reflecting our journey and growth to date and demonstrating the breadth of our services and expertise.
Seven years ago, Peter Mather and I founded Firethorn, with a vision to become a market-leading real estate business. Working across the property lifecycle, we wanted to create high quality, modern spaces that better connected businesses, people and places across the UK.
I’m proud to reflect on the reputation that we have built and the culture we have fostered, with an incredible team who consistently deliver the Firethorn gold standard.
In our relatively short history, we have established an enviable track record in the Industrial & Logistics space. Led by James Sanders, our award-winning Logistics team is focused on developing industry-leading, highly specified spaces that meet the needs of the market, enabling businesses to boost connectivity and increase operational efficiency.
Today, our Logistics portfolio spans a total of 23 assets, providing high quality, Grade-A industrial space in prime logistics locations across the UK – from Cheshire to Barnsley, Peterborough, Northampton and Kent. Delivering innovative and future-proofed solutions to clients, major occupiers include Taylor Wimpey, Next plc and Morrisons, reflecting the quality of the spaces we have developed.
In 2023, we expanded our offering to encompass Firethorn Living, under the leadership of Marcus Weeks. From PBSA developments, to boutique hospitality assets and residential buildings, our expert team creates modern spaces that promote wellbeing, connectivity and community.
Our fast-growing Living portfolio currently comprises seven sites, including student accommodation in Edinburgh, the creation of the UK’s first eco-town in Bicester, a premium hotel asset in York, and the landmark redevelopment of One Bessborough Gardens in central London.
With strong in-house expertise across multiple disciplines – spanning acquisitions, development, finance, legal, leasing and asset management – we have demonstrated the way our capabilities and infrastructure can be utilised to create bespoke solutions that drive long-term value.
Building on an ambition to leverage our market-leading services more widely, we established Firethorn Investments in 2024. Led by Charlie Ingham, this platform deploys our specialist expertise and full-service capabilities to maximise the performance of real estate assets and developments for clients and customers, whilst identifying strategic opportunities to deliver long-term value for our own balance sheet.
Since 2018, we have maintained a responsive and agile approach to best meet the needs of a rapidly evolving market, changing sector demands, and the requirements of our clients. By developing a best-in-class real estate portfolio across the UK, we have cemented our credibility and grown our market presence, while remaining true to our founding vision of delivering expert services quickly, responsibly and to the highest standards.
